How Do I Connect to Pulse Secure VPN with Duo 2FA?

 

 

 

 

To connect to Pulse Secure VPN with Duo 2FA, please follow the instructions below:

Helpful Tips:
- Do NOT check the box Save Settings.
- If you are using the Duo Mobile app, keep your registered phone on you. A Duo Push will be sent to you automatically.
- Touch-ID and Yubikeys are not supported.

 
Authentication via Duo Push:
If you are using the Duo Mobile app, you will receive a Duo Push by default. Click Approve on your phone.
Note: If you do not receive an automatic notification on your phone, open the Duo Mobile app. You will see a "Request Waiting. Tap to Respond...". Tap on it.

Authentication via Duo Mobile Passcode/Duo Hardware Token Passcode/SMS Passcode:
In the password field, enter your password, followed by a comma and the passcode
For example, assume the password is pass1234 and the passcode is 567890, you will enter pass1234,567890 and click Connect.

Authentication via SMS text message (if you registered to receive 2FA passcode via text message:)
In the password field, enter your password, followed by a comma and the word SMS
For example, assume the password is pass1234. You will enter pass1234,SMS and click Connect. The first login attempt will fail but you will receive a text message with a passcode. Then follow the instructions "Authenticating with Duo Mobile Passcode/Duo Hardware Token Passcode/SMS Passcode" for the next login.

Authentication via Phone Call Back (if you registered to receive a Phone Call Back:)
In the password field, enter your password, followed by a comma and the word phone
For example, assume the password is pass1234. You will enter pass1234,phone and click Connect. You will receive a phone call to your registered device to authenticate.
